Madeline Magruder

Madeline is a research assistant in the Nock Lab who graduated from Tulane University in 2025 with a B.S. in Psychology and Public Health and a minor in Anthropology. During her undergraduate degree, she worked as a research assistant for three years under Dr. Stacy Drury in the Behavioral and Neurodevelopmental Genetics Lab studying the ways genetic and epigenetic factors interact with early life experience, ACE’s, and prenatal environments, and how these shape child neurodevelopment and long-term health. Prior to the Nock Lab, she worked as Mental Health Specialist on Boston Children's Hospital's inpatient psychiatric unit, Bader 5, where she established and developed clinical skills in treating and caring for children and adolescents with highly complex medical and psychiatric presentations. She is continually interested in the intersection between intergenerational and early childhood trauma exposure and the ways physiologic and emotion regulatory systems as well as parenting interventions operate as buffers for long-term negative health outcomes. She plans to apply to clinical and developmental psychology PhD programs for the 2027 application cycle.
