Jasmin Brooks Stephens
Jasmin is a doctoral candidate of clinical psychology at the University of Houston and a clinical psychology fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her primary area of research focuses on utilizing mixed-methods and community-based participatory research techniques to investigate how social and contextual factors influence suicide and health outcomes for Black youth and young adults. She aims to develop and implement culturally relevant interventions, programming, and policies that target the reduction of racism-related stress, suicide, and health disparities within Black communities.Jasmin is a 2021 recipient of the Ford Fellowship from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine. She is also a 2022 recipient of the Predoctoral Fellowship from the American Psychological Association's Minority Fellowship Program.
