Sarah Hope holds her primary appointment with McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School, where her work is focused on the role of social factors in the development of serious mental illness in children and adolescents. Sarah Hope's work merges developmental psychopathology and social neuroscience in an effort to identify neurobiological deficits of social processes and social dysfunction, which may confer risk for psychotic and affective disorders. Sarah Hope received her B.A. from Wellesley College and her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Harvard University. She completed a clinical internship at Bellevue Hospital and New York University Medical Center (child and adolescent track), and a one-year postdoctoral fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital in Developmental Neuropsychiatry.
